White Crème de Cacao (700 ml, 22% vol.)

Outside the world of bar professionals, crème de cacao is perhaps not as well-known or intuitively familiar as the fruity liqueurs are. However, far from being merely a chocolaty speciality ingredient, it is essential in giving many drinks smoothness and simultaneously blending together different flavours.

White crème de cacao is generally sweeter than the brown variety, and also used more often in cocktails that are not explicitly "chocolat-y". The reason lies in its smooth taste that unifies different influences. Excellent examples are the cocktails "Grand Occasion" and "Frostbite".

Grand Occasion
  • 60 ml White Rum

  • 15 ml White Crème de Cacao

  • 15 ml Grand Marnier

  • 15 ml Lemon Juice
Cement Boot
  • 1/5 Crème de Cassis

  • 1/5 White Crème de Cacao

  • 1/5 Green Crème de Menthe

  • 1/5 Coffee Liqueur

  • 1/5 Cognac
Slowly and carefully pour the ingredients in the order given into a liqueur glass (ideally a pousse cafe glass), taking care not to disturb the layers.
Mixed Mocha Frappe
  • 20 ml Coffee Liqueur

  • 10 ml White Crème de Menthe

  • 10 ml White Crème de Cacao

  • 10 ml Triple Sec
Pour ingredients in teh order given into a cocktail glass, add crushed ice.
Frostbite
  • 45 ml White Tequila

  • 15 ml White Crème de Cacao

  • 15 ml Blue Curaçao

  • 15 ml Half-and-Half (50% Milk, 50% Cream)
