Rare Alcoholic Beverages for Mixing and Enjoying

In Cooperation with Ruby Red Wines

Mandarine (Tangerine) Liqueur (700 ml, 38% vol.)

This cognac-and-tangerine-based liqueur has a long and illustrious history. Originally invented at the turn of the 19th century by Antoine-Franois de Fourcroy (1755-1809), a Belgian chemist, it was a favoured drink of Napoleon, eventually taking on the name of Mandarine Napoleon. Under this name it is still produced in Belgium by the Family Fourcroy. (More information on Mandarine Napoleon can be found in a New York Times article.) The present interpretation of the recipe by Combier gives a unique perspective on the classic liqueur.
